Sandvik Stainless Steel
Opinel uses Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.
Fibreglass-reinforced polyamide to whithstand shocks and humidity.
Built in Screwdriver + Magnetic Bit Holder
The Opinel No.9 DIY Knife comes with two bit slots on the handle: one to hold the bit at the tail and another to keep a spare bit on standby. Included bits are: 4mm Flat Head and 3.5-5mm Philips.
Built into the blade are two stripping and cutting blades, perfect for stripping wires during electronics setup, or cutting through small sections of rope or twine with other DIY projects around the home or office.
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
